Prepare 225 g plain flour
Prepare 1 tsp baking soda/ bicarb

Steps to make Scones:
Weigh out and mix all the dry ingredients. Self raising flour can be used instead of plain flour and baking powder.
Turn on the oven to 220°C
Dice up the butter into 1cm cubes. Add to the dry mix, and use your fingers to squeeze the butter and flour into crumbs. Continue until the mix resembles fine breadcrumbs with no lumps of butter left.
Measure out the milk and yogurt and mix well in a jug
Add the liquid slowly to the dry part and mix. You will not need all the liquid. Continue combining until the whole mixture combines into a ball. It should be a little sticky, but not wet.
Turn out the mixture onto a flour-dusted surface. Shape into a log and divide into 8 equal pieces (or 10 for smaller scones). Shape each one into a squat square, about 1" tall and place on a baking tray.
Use the remaining milk mix and brush it over the tip of the scones for a nice glaze.
Bake at 220°C for 12-15 minutes until brown on top.
